6 months and Hudson's first beach trip

Hey all!  Hudson is growing like a weed and is a busy little boy!  He just went for his 6 month check up and he weighs 17.5 pounds and is 27 1/4 inches long.  I though for sure that he would weigh more than that because he feels like a chunk to me!  He eats pretty well.  He loves all the "orange and yellow" stuff but hates the "greens."  Dr. Albert assured me that was okay and to keep working on it.  He is sitting up all by himself and prefers to play that way instead of laying on him tummy.  I have a feeling that we will be crawling in the next month or so.  Still no tooth yet but the drool comes in deluges!  He is also babbling like crazy.  I love to hear him on the monitor when he wakes up from his nap. He never cries just "talks."   This past week I had the entire week off and we went to the beach.  It was wonderful to relax and be with my family.  Hudson thought that the ocean was interesting.  His little legs would stiffen up when the waves would hit them.  So cute!  We took a travel bed and set up a tailgate tent so that Hudson could take his naps out on the beach.  He did great!!  My sweet husband usually took him inside early afternoon so that I could enjoy the beach.  So wonderful!!  My parents, sister, and brother-in-law joined us for the first half of the trip and Bryant's sister, Bekah, and her little girl, Gracie, joined us for the last half.  Hudson had fun with his cousin.  I don't know if I have written about this, but Bekah's husband is serving our country in Iraq right now.  We are all so very proud of him and I admire Bekah so much.  She is great with Gracie and I never hear her complain about not having Bubba around to help.  Plus, she has a full-time job!  Bekah, I had to brag a little bit!!:)  Enjoy the pictures!

5 months

Hudson was 5 months this past Sunday!!  Boy, were we busy that day!!!  We had church that morning and then Wild Night at church that night!  Hudson was beat!  This picture was taken very quicky before church.  Sundays can be a mad rush sometimes:)  Hudson can now roll from back to front and front to back.  He'll roll around everywhere.  Just yesterday, we was tri-poding (sp?).  I would sit him down on the floor and let go.  Hudson would balance on his hands.  So proud!!  He is such a wonderful, sweet, little man!

Bad bad blogger

I know....I stink at this blogging stuff.  No excuses.  Hudson is so active now.  He's rolling everywhere.  I love it.  When I come home from work, he gets this big smile on his face!  We have been on rice cereal for about a month now.  It took some getting used to.  He likes it now, but it has to be the right consistency.  Think I have a picky eater.  He loves to be read to.  When I read him a book before bedtime, he kicks and coos.  I love storytime!!  Here are a few picks from the last month and Father's Day.  Enjoy!

Going bald

My sweet baby is losing all his hair.  He now has the Donald Trump comb over.  Hopefully, it will come back soon.  Before church this morning, I took some pictures  of his hair. He is usually a ham for the camera, but this morning he didn't feel like smiling.  Anyway, there is not much that you can do to make his bald spot better.  Oh well.  The Naile household has been busy here lately.  Of course, my work and Bryant starts seminary tomorrow.  He is so excited.  He has been studying for a few weeks now, preparing for the mini term in Greek.  I told him to get ready.....I know what it is like to be a student.  I am so excited to see where God is going to take this.  "Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws we wait for you.  Your name and renown are the desire of our hearts."  Isaiah 26:8  I love this verse.  Allowing God to shape and mold us for his glory.  Hudson is getting so big.  He has discovered his hands and sometimes just looks at them before sticking his middle two fingers in his mouth.  He doesn't want his paci now, just the fingers.  So cute.  He goes to Dr. Albert this upcoming Friday for his 4 month appt.  I hope that he does as well with his shots as he did last time.  I'll keep you updated.  Promise I'll do better with the blogging:) 

Working mom=no time to update!

Well, it has been a busy busy last few weeks!!  I started work and can honestly say that I love it!!  I miss my little man so much, but love the afternoons when I pick him up.  At first, I felt guilty about leaving Hudson.  I felt like a bad mom because I couldn't be there for him 24/7.  I do believe that work has made me a better mother because I don't take our time together for granted.  It's a total God thing that I love what I do or I would be miserable at work.  Now, for an update on Hudson.  He is now sleeping through the night...most of the time.  We put him down at 8:30 and he wakes up at 5 for daddy to feed him while I pump.  He has done this for the past week so I hope that it is a habit!!  He rolled over from his tummy to his back this past Wednesday while we were at our Life Group.  It was so fun because we were all watching him and then we just cheered!!  It was awesome that we got to experience that "First" with our Life Group, which we view as our extended family.  Hudson is also babbling up a storm. If you can get him to make eye contact with you, he'll just talk away!  This is such a sweet time and I love how his little personality is taking shape!  The pictures are from 3 weeks ago.  I love the naked ones!!

Easter Weekend and first shots....

This past Easter weekend was so much fun!!  It all started with dinner with Rob and Dacy Lee and little Dacy Caroline.  Of course, Dacy and I have already prearranged their marriage, so we loved having some pictures taken of them together.  I don't know what D.C. thought of Hudson:)  

This Easter, we went to my parents' the night before to grill out with the family.  Aunt Rachel and Uncle Kev came up from Bay Minette and couldn't believe how big Hudson has gotten!  Easter Sunday, we went to Bryant's parents'.  Hudson had fun and napped most of the time, but he woke up laughing with Nonna and Bradley's girlfriend, Hannah.  The adults all hunted Easter eggs and I admit I had fun!!  Haven't done that since I was like 7.  It was so much fun!  

Yesterday, Hudson had his 2 month check up.  He was 12 lbs. 5 oz. and 22 1/2 inches long.  That's 60% on weight and 25% on height.  So, right now he is short and fat.  I hope he continues to get longer!!!  Poor thing had 4 shots yesterday!  The nurse was super fast and he only cried right after for a few minutes.  Of course, I have been cuddling him all day and haven't gotten anything done around here.  I start my new job as a CRNA this upcoming Monday so I'm having trouble putting him down.  It makes me so so sad to leave him....but he will be in good hands with our neighbor, Kim.  God is good and I truly believe that I can be a vessel for Christ at work.  If anything, I do feel called for that and if that means leaving my baby....I'll embrace it.

Anniversaries and first colds

Bryant and I had our 5 year anniversary this past Friday.  My mom and dad came to keep Hud man and we went out!!  It was our first "real date" since Hudson has been born.  We went to Amore in Greystone.  It was delicious and I highly recommend it!!  We reflected on 5 wonderful years together and how having Hudson has made it that more special.  We truly find that we love him more everyday.......he should be drowning in love by the time that he is 18:)  The day before, Hudson had a little stuffy nose and a low grade fever.  Of course, I called the pediatrician and we went in to get things checked out.  I was thinking, "How could he have a cold?"  I have gotten him out more recently, but he is almost 2 months old.  Guilt set in....he's sick because I did something wrong.  Now, I know that is not true.  At the time, that was how I was feeling.  He's doing much better, but we are having to suction his little nose out.  He hates it, but takes it like a champ!  I'm so excited about Easter this weekend!  I can't wait to worship on Sunday and spend some time with family!!  Also, Hudson has the cutest outfit.....
